the past week had been a blessing
and unlike last year
i had high hopes for my birthday this year
maybe i just expected a new beginning in my life
after all, there was a major change

anyways, nothing really extravagant nor grand
just mini gatherings with a few friends here and there
and many many birthday greetings that warmed my heart...

thu (30/10):
surprise pressies from mich, wanting and alamu
i absolutely looooove the lollipop-star-themed birthday presents :D
and they really all everything covered - from head to toe
scrunchie, nail polish, lollipop hp accessory, hp pouch, anklet, earring...
and a bouquet of lollipops
pretty card and cute messages, too
but 最爱不释手的是 the lollipop hp accessory - i immediately opened it and hung it on my hp ^^

fri (31/10):
met up with karen at imm after work
wow it's our 10th year of friendship le
right from sec 1 til now
my bestest (is there such a word?) friend
anyways, dinner was at secret recipe cos i wanted to eat cheese cake
but my cheez choc wasn't available *pout*
and she bought me this scorpio bear - you can see me acting cute while posing with it on my facebook profile
and mayday album!!
then we went up to garden plaza (partly to check out the location for frh's autograph session) to take pictures

sat (1/11):
then began the pigging session
[step 1 to becoming a pig]
bro's treat was at sakura (jurong west stadium) - luckily we walked to and fro, at least not that bad
unfortunately that day also happened to be some company's D&D (dont you find it weird to have a D&D at sakura?)
there's this whole bunch of banglas around us
and well, buffet
enough said

sun (2/11):
nothing much this day
basically the whole day was spent doing last minute work on prof chang's essays
finished right before the clock struck 12am
and well... the quality of the essays is an entire different issue hehs

mon (3/11):
after 12am, some sms-es started coming in
and yesh jolyn you're the first
haha it's a bit funny actually
cos 24 hours before that, i sent a similar sms to her (our birthdays are a day apart...)
then went to sleep and woke up to a sweet surprise
seeing so many sms-es waiting for me
then more came through the day
mom and i went out first to bugis 拜拜
went past this shop and i fell in love with this blouse at a shop in bugis village and decided to get it
then we looked around the shop
mom chose another dress-like blouse/shirt for me and paid for them
then walked to plaza singapura for a high tea buffet at lao beijing

the service was slow - i seriously suspect they keep serving the guys sitting next to us our orders
some stuff are "while stocks last"
and you had to snatch for those food at the buffet table
but ohwell at least i got to eat my 小笼包 and many many 烧卖 ^^
after the buffet, georgie called - he never failed to, every year
still touched whenever i receive his call

tue (4/11):
had another pleasant surprise when i logged into facebook and saw so many posts on my wall
had rebecca's last lecture in the afternoon
nothing much lah, just that we got back our essay and received our group project grade
my essay sucked
thank god the group project was quite good
then sihuan gave alamu and me a lift
met up with zhimian and zhenhui for kuishin bo buffet

snow crab was on free flow, so the battle begins
battle 1: zhenhui VS snow crab
battle 2: me VS snow crab
i'd like to think i won haha
the food was much better than sakura (the cost was "better" too)
and the desserts~
too bad i was too stuffed by then to really enjoy them properly
then i received my presents from them - two funky t-shirts
apparently the yellow one was chosen on purpose
to put some colours to my entire wardrobe of black tops
and it just feel really nice to finally have some quality time with the two of them
really missed zhimian's stories - really
then after dinner penny came along with a surprise cake and an unlit candle
had to pose with the unlit candle - i look stoopid in it haha

wed (5/11):
met up with sze and shini at central (clarke quay)
the night view there is actually quite nice but we didnt really go sit by the river
had ramen at this shop at L3
not much variety but the shop's not bad
then went BK, bought a king-size lemon tea and just chat
oh and also had the grand opening of my presents
got 胡歌's first album "出发"
and high class shampoo + conditioner - specially for damaged hair
yes specially chosen for my head haha
tried them when i got back - (i just gotta repeat this) shampoo smells good, conditioner smells like cough syrup (the pink kind) initially then it smells like the huge kinda flat-round-lollipop

and wow exams are already starting a less than a week
ending in less than 2 weeks
eeks it sounds scary when i write that out
ohwells wish me luck! i need lots

im so totally looking forward to december:
those promised k-sessions - even shini wanna sing!!!
frh concert (especially after listening to zhimian talk about the lee hom concert she went to, super excited)
short cruise trip - at least it's still a trip away from the country
but venus wants a first draft of our fyp report by the end of december, i think
